What to Expect During Your Session

Stepping into a colon hydrotherapy session, especially for the first time, can feel vulnerable. My goal is to make the experience feel safe, calm, private, and deeply supportive from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave.

  • When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into a clean, quiet space designed to help your nervous system settle. The room is warm, private, and grounded. No rush, no pressure, no clinical harshness. You’ll have time to breathe, use the washroom, and get comfortable before we begin.

  • We start by talking through your health history, digestion, goals, and any anxieties you may have about the process. I’ll walk you through exactly how the session works so nothing feels unknown. You’re in full control the entire time. You can pause, stop, or adjust at any moment.

  • You’ll lie comfortably on the treatment table, covered and draped for privacy. I use a gentle, FDA-approved, closed system so the process feels clean, discreet, and highly controlled.

    The client will insert (with guidance) a small, sterile speculum with care and lubrication. Most clients are surprised by how easy and non-invasive this step feels. Throughout the treatment, warm, filtered water flows in and out in small cycles to soften and release waste without force.

    I guide the entire process while monitoring your comfort, breath, and nervous system. I also integrate foundational lymphatics, gentle abdominal massage, and fascia work to support release and reduce pressure.

    You are never left alone and always supported.

  • Once the session is complete, you’ll have private time in the bathroom to finish releasing. Most clients walk out feeling lighter, clearer, and deeply regulated. Some feel energized; others feel relaxed and grounded.

    Both are normal. Your body is simply integrating the release.

  • Before you leave, I’ll share personalized recommendations based on what I observed:

My approach is gentle, grounding, and deeply supportive. I love creating a space where clients feel safe, informed, and truly cared for as they reconnect with their bodies and discover what's possible when their system finally begins to move again.

I’ve spent over a decade researching and helping women heal their digestive systems through nervous-system-informed and lymphatic-centred approaches. 

Over the years, I’ve learned that while everyone’s symptoms and stories are uniquely their own, the underlying patterns are often the same: chronic stress reveals and amplifies our genetic predispositions. 

I’m passionate about helping people understand why they got sick, guiding them back into regulation, and creating maintenance plans they can follow for life, supporting true freedom from bloating, constipation, and chronic discomfort. 

I used this exact approach to heal my own body after decades of chronic illness, and it’s an honour to support my clients in finding stable ground again.

Contraindications

Colon hydrotherapy is safe for most people, but there are certain conditions where treatment isn’t recommended. If any of the following apply to you, please connect with your healthcare provider before booking, as a doctor’s clearance may be required.

You should avoid colon hydrotherapy if you have:

  • Recent colon, abdominal, or rectal surgery (within the last 6 months)

  • Active gastrointestinal bleeding

  • Severe hemorrhoids, fissures, abscesses, or significant rectal inflammation

  • Severe anemia

  • Uncontrolled hypertension or congestive heart failure

  • Kidney disease, renal insufficiency, or you are on dialysis

  • A severe diverticulitis flare or active ulcerative colitis flare

  • Active Crohn’s disease

  • Diagnosed carcinoma of the colon or rectum

  • An abdominal hernia

  • An aneurysm or serious cardiac condition

  • Pregnancy (especially in the first trimester)

  • Recent radiation to the abdominal or pelvic area

  • Severe dehydration or known electrolyte imbalance

  • Yes. Colon hydrotherapy can help relieve constipation, gas, and abdominal discomfort by rehydrating the colon and stimulating peristalsis — your body’s natural wave-like muscle movement that moves waste out.

  • Colon hydrotherapy is not recommended for those with:

    • Active inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis)

    • Severe hemorrhoids or rectal bleeding

    • Recent abdominal surgery

  • During your session, a small, sterile tube is comfortably inserted into the rectum, allowing water to gently fill and empty the colon in cycles. The therapist monitors water pressure and temperature throughout, ensuring your comfort. Waste and water are released through a closed system — there is no odour, mess, or discomfort.

  • No — colon hydrotherapy should never be painful. You may feel sensations of fullness or mild cramping as your body releases gas or stool, but most clients describe the process as relaxing and even meditative.

  • For best results:

    • Stay well hydrated (aim for 1–1.5 L of water the day before and morning of).

    • Eat light, whole foods — think soups, fruits, veggies, and lean protein.

    • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and processed foods for 24 hours prior.

    • Arrive with an empty stomach (no heavy meals within 2–3 hours).

  • Most people feel lighter, calmer, and more energized. You may experience a few more bowel movements that day as your body continues releasing. Continue to hydrate well and eat nourishing foods. Avoid alcohol and heavy meals for the next 24 hours to support recovery.

  • Some people feel energized immediately; others may feel slightly fatigued as the body continues detoxifying. This is normal — rest, hydrate, and allow your system to reset.

  • Pre-Colonic Preparation Guide

    To get the most out of your treatment, follow these gentle guidelines. The goal is to arrive relaxed, hydrated, and in a state that supports your body’s natural ability to release and reset.

    24 Hours Before Your Session

    Avoid alcohol and recreational drugs — they dehydrate the body and add stress to the liver.

    Minimize caffeine and refined sugar — these can overstimulate the nervous system and affect hydration.

    Eat from the Earth — choose whole foods like fruits, vegetables, broths, and quality proteins; avoid processed or heavy meals.

    Stay hydrated — sip 1–1.5 L of purified water throughout the day.

    Reduce gas-forming foods if you’re prone to bloating (beans, carbonated drinks, cruciferous vegetables, and sugar-free gums like xylitol or erythritol).

    Avoid laxatives unless otherwise directed — the treatment will naturally stimulate release.
